When Sir Cliff asked Sheila Pickles to work with him on the development of his new perfume range, starscents was born. starscents is a small team of highly experienced professionals led by Sheila Pickles. Over 23 years as Managing Director of Penhaligon's, the UK’s premier Perfume House, Sheila built a reputation for excellence which remains second to none. She was the proud recipient of two Royal Warrants, by appointment to HRH The Duke of Edinburgh and HRH The Prince of Wales and she received the Royal Society of Arts' Award for Design Management.
Sheila has an unparalleled record of developing and marketing successful perfumed products. During her time at Penhaligon's, Sheila created 26 perfumes, and over 1500 luxury gifts. She also created Parfum de Jour for Joseph.
Over the past ten years, Sheila has created private label luxury perfume brands for fashion designers and retailers, making beautiful scents and perfumed products for the bath, body and home. Her clients include Space NK, Trussardi, J. Barbour and Sons, Jigsaw, Pringle, William Yeoward and Nina Campbell, amongst others.
As the author of fourteen unique Scented Anthologies of Verse and Prose including the international best sellers, A Victorian Posy and The Language of Flowers, Sheila has over two million books in print.
As a fan of long-standing, Sheila was delighted to be asked to work with Cliff on the development of his new perfume range. After Miss You Nights, Dream Maker, Devil Woman and Summer Holiday had been launched, Sheila turned her thoughts to jewellery and began working with Paula Bolton, the talented jewellery designer. Be In My Heart, a silver charm bracelet, was launched in time for Christmas 2007, together with Midnight Diamonds, a suite of necklace and earrings. The photograph bottom right shows Cliff with Sheila and Paula celebrating his 50th anniversary in showbusiness at the recent Thames boat trip.
